Frequently Asked Questions
General information about CBD
CBD (shorter name for Cannabidiol) is one of the most effective cannabinoid molecules found in hemp flowers and leaves.
It was discovered in 1940 and is now usually labelled as a pharma-drug, food supplement, cosmetic, or food and drink ingredient.
Unlike the psychoactive THC molecule of cannabis, CBD is not intoxicating and therefore safe and legal to use in most countries.
Cannabidiol food supplements are mostly valued for calming properties.
CBD interacts with our endocannabinoid system, bringing daily physical and mental functions or reactions (such as sleep, pain, emotions, immune system) back to balance.
CBD is legal to buy and use in most countries as long as it does not have the psychoactive molecule THC included.
If you’re not sure about the maximum allowed THC amount in your country or if THC is completely forbidden, we‘d recommend to go for full-spectrum THC-free, broad-spectrum, or CBD isolate products as they do not contain residual THC molecules.
Alternatively, if your country allows low-THC products, check that the product does not have a higher than the allowed THC amount (in most countries it is 0.2% or 0.3%). However, keep in mind that even low amounts of THC can cause side effects (anxiety, dizziness) and drug test failure.
In any case, be aware that some manufacturers are irresponsible. Always check the cannabinoid amounts in the laboratory results of the batch you purchase.
The World Health Organization has proven that CBD is neither intoxicating nor addictive. https://www.who.int/medicines/access/controlled-substances/CannabidiolCriticalReview.pdf
Also, CBD is allowed by the World Anti-Doping Agency for athletes. https://www.wada-ama.org/en/questions-answers/cannabinoid
THC is the only known molecule of cannabis that gives an intoxicating effect.
H Drop products are THC-free.
CBD usage
Simply said, 1 drop of 15% = 3 drops of 5%
But we recommend starting by calculating your personal recommended daily CBD dosage here: CBD dosage calculator.
Let us assume your recommended daily dosage is 30mg of CBD.
30mg of CBD = 4 drops (7.5 mg each) of 15% CBD bottle = 12 drops (2.5mg each) of 5% bottle = 3 capsules of 10mg
Generally, 5% oil is more convenient while experimenting with low doses but 15% oil is more economical. Meanwhile, capsules are designed for those who want to be sure that the dosage is completely accurate (it is rather easy to miscalculate the number of drops) and tasteless.
Therefore, we usually recommend new users start with 500mg (5%) CBD oil and eventually, if needed, continue with the more economical 1500mg (15%) option. Or just instantly go for medium strength 10mg CBD capsules, if preferred.
It is highly recommended to use CBD regularly, such as 2-3 times per day.
If you are a new user, the effect might not be felt immediately. Allow your endocannabinoid receptors at least a few days to adapt fully.
Daily dosage of CBD depends on a lot of factors, such as your body weight, body chemistry, the condition you’re treating, and the concentration of CBD in the product you’re using.
We recommend starting with the recommended daily CBD dosage based on our CBD dosage calculator or the dosage stated on the product package.
Then:
1. Divide the dosage evenly throughout the day (2 or 3 times).
2. For oil: squeeze the recommended number of drops under the tongue and keep the drops there for 2 minutes.
2. For capsules: swallow the recommended number of capsules with water or a cold drink. Do not chew.
3. Gradually increase the dosage if needed. However, do not exceed more than 200mg of CBD per day.
Pregnant women:
There is a lack of scientific studies regarding CBD side effects for pregnant women. Therefore, it’s essential for pregnant women to consult with a competent doctor before applying CBD.
Children:
Clinical studies have proven that CBD is safe to use for children age 2 and above.
There is no scientific evidence regarding younger children.
However, it is essential to consult with a competent doctor before using CBD for children of any age.
There is no clinical data about CBD interacting
with particular medications. Though, medication that has a “grapefruit warning” should not be used with CBD products because CBD, just like grapefruit, interacts with the metabolic process, which can have an impact on the effectiveness of other medications.
Therefore, it is essential to consult with a competent doctor before
using CBD with medications.
